Debbie Simpson QPM


Debbie Simpson joined Bedfordshire Police in 1984 rising through the ranks in both uniform and CID to the rank of T/Assistant Chief Constable within Bedfordshire.

In 2008 Debbie transferred to Devon and Cornwall Police as their Assistant Chief Constable, responsible for Crime, Operations and the Criminal Justice Portfolio. In October 2011 she was appointed Deputy Chief Constable in Dorset Police before her appointment to the role of Chief Constable for Dorset in 2013.

In 2014 she awarded the Queens Police Medal for services to policing.

At a National level Debbie is the policing lead for Forensics and Disaster Victim Identification and was recently appointed as Director of the Strategic Command Course at the College of Policing. Debbie is also a trustee for Addaction. Of the UK Police Memorial Trust, she says:
