On the first anniversary of the murder of PC Keith Palmer (22nd March) at the gates of the Houses of Parliament, the UK Police Arboretum Memorial Trust is launching a text giving fundraising campaign to support the building of a new memorial to honour fallen police officers.

Mobile Giving

Donating to The Police Arboretum Memorial Trust (trading as The UK Police Memorial) by text message is a quick and easy way to support the charity. All you have to do is text the word COURAGE to the 5 digit shortcode 70171 and your donation will be added to your phone bill or deducted from your pay as you go credit.

You must be 16 years old or over to send a text donation. You must obtain permission from the bill payer before sending a text message.

How will my donation be spent?

Donations made are to support the build and ongoing maintenance of the UK Police Memorial.

Costs of donating by text and what the UK Police Memorial receives

All texts will be charged at £5, plus one message at your standard message rate (based on your service provider rates); the charge will show on your bill and the sender will show as 70171.

We receive the full £5 from each text donation.

Where can I send text donations from?

You can only donate from a UK mobile. You cannot donate using this service from a Channel Island, Isle of Man or other non-UK mobile. You must obtain permission from the bill payer before sending a text message.

What you agree to when you donate

By texting, you consent to future telephone contact by The Police Arboretum Memorial Trust, trading as The UK Police Memorial. If you do not wish to be contacted in future send NOINFO to 70171 or contact our Supporter Services team to have your number removed from the database.

Gift Aid

Your donation may be eligible for Gift Aid. We may contact you on the mobile number you used to give you the opportunity to add Gift Aid to your donation. If we send you a link to a page where you can submit your details then, as with any mobile browsing, you may incur charges from your network provider when visiting that page. If we ask you to text those details, then a standard network message charge (based on your service provider rates) will be incurred.

Data protection

Your data will be handled in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998 and will only be used to keep you informed about our fundraising, activities, events and services. We will not share your information with any third party organisations except where such transfer is a necessary part of our activities, or we are required to do so by operation of law.
